Although I've seen head shots with feathers and beyond before, I find this concept unique in its own way. She looks strong, passionate, yet a tiny bit sad if you stare right into her eyes. The black and white with a hint of toning suggests a movie scene or something other which also suggests character and values in this woman.
I saw the color version and the amount of depth that comes our of the processing of this photo is remarkable. I also love the lower lash line. You added lashes correct? It was done in such a way where I barely noticed at all, but in the end it still added to the overall atmosphere of the photo. Great Shot!
It's really an interesting photo, and I have to say it's probably one of my favorites on DeviantART.
However, I do think that the jewelry around her neck is more of a distraction rather than something that helps enhance the photo. You want everyone to focus on her face and the elements of her face, but I find that the jewelry causes me eye to scroll down and become locked and lose interest in the rest of the photo.
Other than that, fantastic job!
